Bradley's Home!!!

Bradley got home this evening around 5 and we immediately headed out to watch him play some soccer with the old men. Donovan was so excited when Brad got home and kept wanting to chase his daddy on the field. After a while he realized it was a pretty silly game to make his mommy chase after him and started laughing and looking back at me as he ran across the side line. He's such a little stinker! He is so much like Bradley. He loves to be around people and isn't scared to talk to anyone...most of the time. During the game he was playing with some of Brad's teammates that he had never seen before. He definitely didn't get that from me, but I guess he could have gotten some of it from my mom.

Donovan and I had a pretty good week. We played with Mason, Lenna, Hannah, and Addilyn quite a bit so we kept busy. Hannah was nice enough to come over for a couple of evenings so I could get some running in after my cold finally went away. I really appreciated all the help and distractions they provided. I took a few pictures, but none worth posting. You may have to wait for pictures until we get back from Utah!! We leave on Wednesday and will stay until the 10th or 11th.

4 days down, 5 to go! The week really hasn't gone by very fast, but we have kept ourselves pretty busy. Joyce and David were kind enough to invite us over for dinner on Sunday and let us hang out for a little while. I had been dreading Sunday because it always seems to drag on a little, which is great when Bradley is home, but not so great when it's just Donovan and me and it's muggy and hot outside. If you didn't know, Donovan does NOT like to be cooped up unless he is with Mason or somewhere new and different. On Monday we spent a little time at the park before it got way too hot (notice Donovan's red face) and we ended up at the mall and played at the play area there. He was really proud of himself because he was climbing up the mushroom and getting down all by himself. When he got down he would run over to me and give me five.

He loves to give hugs...to everyone. We also went to my favorite store, The Children's Place. I am a regular. There is a lady there who always remembers Donovan and even remembered that he is turning 2 soon! She's really nice and she keeps Donovan entertained while ringing us up.

Yesterday we went to the children's museum with Lenna, Mason and Addilyn. The boys had a blast and even went for a ride on the carousel.
This little girl was trying to con Donovan out of his cart.
He's so young that I decided it was okay for me to intervene after she took it from him right in front of me. He just looked at her like, "what are you doing?"
After Donovan's nap we spent the rest of the day at the Hiatt's playing Canasta, eating dinner, and watching a movie. When we got home I saw a lot of fireflies/lightning bugs (call them what you will) and Donovan and I had fun watching them and trying to catch a few. We weren't outside very long because it was almost 10:00, but I think we will play out there again tonight, he really enjoyed it!I'm not sure what we will do today, but I did find out that we have a little splash pad area at our park so we might try that out sometime this week. It's just so hot outside! And it's not a dry heat, the air is thick and it makes it more difficult to breath or cool off. Sweat doesn't help you cool off when it's humid outside!

I talked to Bradley last night and it sounded like he is doing pretty well. He is starting to get a little anxiety, but I know he will do just fine. He is playing a lot of soccer in some serious heat, so he is sore and exhausted, but I think he is enjoying himself(they get to practice their coaching sessions and the other coaches are their players). It's challenging, but he loves things like this. He is always trying to improve himself. This is basically his dream job and he wants to do the best he can! I'm really glad that he is doing something he loves, even though it takes him away from home more often than I would like! He has passion and love for his job and it makes a big difference in his attitude when he gets home from work.

Here is a video of Donovan saying some of his new words. He is getting a little more interested in saying things and I usually understand what he is trying to tell me. They still aren't crystal clear, but he is working on it!

*the little spot on the left side (his left) of Donovan's cheek isn't dirt or jam, it is a bruise. When we were at Joyce's he fell down and his cheek on the corner of their couch.

Happy Father's Day!!

I want to say Happy Father's Day to my Daddy! I don't know if my dad knows this, but I adore him. He may not have realized it, but I had him wrapped around my finger, I was his favorite DeAnna (this is what he says instead of just admitting I am his favorite out of all my siblings). This may sound bad and you may think I am a horrible person, but it was really easy to manipulate my Daddy. He is so laid back and warm hearted (yes, he is just a big teddy bear on the inside), it was easy to get him to cave to my demands. I was the master manipulator in our family, but I did my best to be a good person because I wanted my parents to be proud of me. He did draw some lines that I knew not to cross, but for the most part he let me live my life the way I wanted to and I will always appreciate that. He let me be my own person and I love him very much. I also love my mom! She is one of the most amazing people I know, she has been through so much with all of us kids and she handles it better than most people would! Both of my parents truly love their children unconditionally and I love them both very much.
Happy Father's Day to Bradley's Dad as well. I don't feed or take care of his son as well as Tia does, but I feel very accepted by both of them and am grateful to be a Silvey!
And finally, Happy Father's Day to Donovan's Daddy. Bradley is an incredible dad. He is very busy, but always finds time to play with Donovan at the end of a long and tiring day. Donovan adores his dad and often talks about him during the day. Brad left early yesterday morning to Chicago and after Donovan and I got home from Lenna and Scott's at the end of the day, he burst inside saying, "daddy, daddy!" It was sad, but sweet at the same time. He loves seeing his daddy when we walk in the door after an afternoon out and gets very anxious during the day before Bradley comes home for good! He gets really sad when Brad comes home for lunch and has to leave after a little while. We love Bradley and hope he does well this week! We sure do miss him, and he just left yesterday!

Father's Day

Since Bradley will be gone on Father's Day, Donovan and I decided to give him his gift last night since he will be busy packing today. For those of you who don't know, he will be in Chicago for a week and a day. He leaves Saturday morning and won't be back until late on Sunday the 28th. He is getting his USSF "B" License. He is always striving to be the best he can be at everything he does, we are so proud of him! This is what Donovan and I did for his gift. Donovan wasn't too cooperative so the pictures aren't great, but I love the idea (Kirsta's) and I love the frame so it can be a yearly tradition. We thought it would be something nice to put in his office to show off his adorable child.

A week with the Silvey's

Brad's family left on Wednesday so I guess I will finally post the pictures I took while they were here.

After Brad's high school team lost on Friday, Donovan wanted to go for a ride. I should have taken the picture of when Brad actually did give him a ride. I know, it wasn't very safe, but he went very slow and drove on grass most of the way. I was freaking out, but Donovan loved it.
Later on Friday, Tia's sister Gina came into town from Missouri with her husband to see the baby and everone else. We love to see Aunt Gina and Uncle Dennis, they are so much fun! Gina played Rock Band for the first time while Dennis took a nap with Addilyn (sorry, I don't have that picture).
On Saturday we went to the pedestrian bridge and Bass Pro Shop.
Mason had to "pshew" guns. They also "drove" the boats and four wheelers and Donovan got a chair from his Granny and Papa.
On Sunday, Brad played in a 3 v. 3 tournament. Donovan really liked sitting on his chair, he is always stealing mine.
And he still stole it, even when he had his own.On Monday we went to the zoo...imagine that. We love it! Donovan stuck with Papa through most of the Desert Dome.
Three generations of Silvey men.
Hannah can't take a picture without pulling a face (just look at the Rock Band picture).
Kingdoms of the Night. This little "pond" has a glass layer between the water so it looks really deep, but it's not...you can't really tell in the picture.Donovan loves going into the bat cave and staring up at the ceiling.
Looking at the penguins with Papa.I love this little boy.
Granny and Papa with Addilyn.
More pictures of Addi.

On Tuesday we went to the Children's Museum in Omaha. I stole this picture from Lenna's blog, I think it is really cute with the boys holding hands...and Donovan looks really tall!Still loves the ball room, he didn't want to leave.

We had a lot of fun and already miss having them around! We are really excited to see everone else in July!

Happy Anniversary!!

I just wanted to say Happy 4th Anniversary to my hottie of a husband, even though he probably won't even read this! I won't lie, there have been some rough days in the last 4 years, but it just keeps getting better. My mom told me the first 5 years are the most difficult and we have almost made it through! We haven't been through too many big issues, but plenty of small ones! I wouldn't have it any other way, I'm glad we have stuck through it and have become stronger. I love Bradley very much and can't imagine my life without him, at this point I'm not sure if I could live without him!

At the zoo-yes, even before Donovan, we had a zoo pass :)

First and only trip to Disneyland without Donovan-December '06
Then there were three
I love my little family so much! I may sound horrible for saying this, but it is going to be bitter sweet when we decide to add a new member to our family. I know it won't be that hard because I know I will love any other children we have just as much as I love Donovan, but that is hard to imagine right now, I'm pretty content with what I have for now.

Socca playa

Brad's high school team lost on Friday, so Brad's schedule will return to normal. It was a little bittersweet for all of us, we wanted them to do well, but the season has been very looooong. After the game, Donovan wanted to show off his skills.

I will post more pictures later on this week. Wednesday is our 4 year anniversary!! I can't believe it has almost been 4 years.

A few pictures

We have been having a lot of fun with Brad's parents in town. Donovan has been a little pill, but he has been enjoying running around with Mason at David and Joyce's house.

They love going outside and playing with the water guns. Donovan found another use for them. Don't ask me who gave him the idea to put it down his pants.
I made another Barbie cake for one of my young women. She loved the one I did for our fundraiser so her mom asked me to make her one for her birthday. It was a lot of fun. I really like Kayleigh so I hope she likes it!
The back doesn't look great, but it works!Donovan kissing baby Addi.

In other news, Brad's high school team is doing really well. They have 2 more games to make it to the Iowa State Tournament. They have a game tonight and if they win they will have another game on Monday. He is still pretty busy, but we should get a short vacation in July before the college season starts!

Some people are jerks

I woke up before 5:00 this morning to the sound of our car alarm. It was such a pleasant way to start the day. Someone had busted the window out in our car and ran away when the alarm went off. Thankfully, we don't leave anything in the car that anyone would want to steal. Donovan and I drove into Omaha this morning to get it fixed and got to pay $100 for someone else's stupid mistake, it was awesome. I really wish I could find the moron that did it, I would punch him in the face, and maybe kick him in the shins. What a jerk.

On a happier note, here are some adorable pictures of Donovan making faces in the tub.

Swimming at the Hiatt's

Like father, like son. Donovan wanted to be just like his daddy. We are having a lot of fun having Brad's parents in town. They brought awesome water guns for the boys.

A few pictures of baby Addi! She is such a beautiful little baby!!
