New Developments

Donovan loves to draw, but that's old news. I did find him a new desk today! He doesn't really have a table or anything, and I found one today at a consignment store for $7, so I grabbed it! He's really excited to have his first preschool lesson on his new desk tomorrow.

I really love these boys. They're both so handsome...and they're pretty fun too:)
Donovan loves to do my Jillian Michaels workout with me. This move is called a sumo squat, he's really good at it.
Brad went to his first NFL game on Sunday. There's a guy that helps out with the team sometimes that has season tickets to the Broncos. He knows how much Brad loves the Colts, so he invited him to go out there with him when they played each other. Brad was pretty excited.

Good old Peyton Manning.

They won of course, 27-13 I believe.
He said it was fun, but would rather go to a game in Indianapolis. I guess it was pretty frightnening being surrounded by so many Broncos fans. There was a security issue when a couple of Broncos fans yelled at a 10 year old girl (Colts fan) to shut up and sit down. I think I would have started a security issue if someone told my 10 year old little girl to shut up and sit down, too. I have a bit of a mama bear streak in me when someone messes with my child...but I keep it pretty calm becuase it's usually other kids messing with him. I don't think I would control myself well if it were an adult. Anyway, he had fun. He didn't think the 8 hour drive was that bad either, the guy he went with is Jewish so they had some interesting religious discussions.
My favorite new development started on Thursday. I was texting my mom, asking her opinion about whether or not I should attempt to drive out for Tiva's wedding. It didn't take long for her to offer to pay for one of our tickets to fly out instead (it would just be Donovan and me going out). I thought about it and talked it over with Brad and started looking for tickets on Friday. By Friday night, we had our flight booked for this coming Saturday! They were actually pretty cheap tickets, especially for being a week out, so we went for it. Donovan is really excited to see his grandparents...and to fly on the plane! He might change his mind when I wake him up at 5:30 on Saturday morning to get to the airport:) I plan to be completely exhausted/frazzled by the time we get to Salt Lake Saturday afternoon, but I'm still pretty excited to hang out with family and go to T's wedding!! I really didn't think we'd make it, so even though I know my mom's intentions weren't completely selfless (who can blame her? She wants to see her only grandson...and maybe a little of her oldest daughter with her expanding belly), we're grateful that she and my dad were generous enough to help us get out there one last time before baby comes! So thank you Mom and Dad/Glenn and Mindy/Papa Glenn and Grandma "Minnie"!!!

Busy Week

We had a fairly busy week this week, but I didn't take many pictures. I'm having some difficulties remembering things, and the camera is one of them.

On Tuesday, Brad and I went to the Dave Matthews Band concert. It was a great show, we had a lot of fun! I was pretty tired, but I tried to stay as energetic as possible because Brad was enjoying himself and I didn't want to be the boring wife sitting through the whole thing. I think I let loose pretty well, but not quite as much as Brad, he was...well...Brad! I've always known he loves Dave, but I found out that night that he has a pretty extreme man crush on him. Lenna was nice enough to let Donovan sleep over on a school night so we could go. Brad left the next morning at 3:30 for Minnesota. They won that game of course and he got home at about 3:30 on Thursday morning...so he spent a good 12 hours just riding on the bus! On Friday he had a home game and they won....of course. If they're playing within their conference, it's pretty much a guarunteed win. Afterwards Dell Loy took us to dinner with some of the parents who had flown out with him to watch the games that weekend. On Saturday morning, the girls played against each other for their Full 90 Fundraiser. Brad coached the white team and they ended up beating the blue team in a shootout. It was fun to watch them go at each other. It was supposed to be an afternoon game, but Dell Loy wanted to get back for the Real Salt Lake vs Chicago Fire game on Saturday and told Brad if he moved the game to 10 am, he would donate $5,000. Of course it wasn't a big deal, so Brad agreed and got a check for the soccer team that morning! What a life that would be!! That afternoon we went to the IWCC Homecoming football game. It was a little frustrating until they came out and won in the 4th quarter. Donovan really enjoyed his 1st football game, even though it was freezing. All the pictures are below.

Brad and his new jersey.
Ready to watch Peyton play Eli!
Dell Loy brought REAL practice jerseys for the whole team...with their own names and numbers on the back. Granted, some of the girls probably have no idea who Real Salt Lake is...or that Dell Loy owns almost half the team, but they all thought it was pretty great! Don't look too closely at the goalie on the end above Dell Loy, she had a plate put in her cheek bone the other day after it was fractured in 3 different places on their NY trip. The poor girl looks so miserable, I can't even imagine something like that.

Donovan's first football game!!

He liked trying to copy what the cheerleaders were doing. He got pretty into all the cheering.
We watched Mason and Addi Saturday afternoon/evening so Scott and Lenna could get out. They all had fun together, with a couple of meltdowns from Donovan. I don't know what's going on, but he's been extremely sensitive lately. I hope it's just the changes coming up and nothing I'm doing wrong.

Just one away game this week and then a home game Saturday. Then we'll be alone again next weekend when Brad goes to Laramie. I wish we could go on that trip, but we have responsiblities here. PS-Colts are winning right now...WOOT WOOT!!

Pictures from the last 2 weeks

Soccer season is in full swing, which means plenty of games for Donovan and me to go to.

Donovan's favorite soccer game activity, playing on the track at halftime!
He is such a little runner! Brad took him to one of his training sessions on a Saturday morning and he was content to just run around the track.

Our zoo trip with Mindy and Sydney. He and Sydney get along really well and it's nice to have a grown up to hang out with while my child gets some social interaction!
He's not as enthusiastic when it isn't just him and Sydney.
Normal cute face.

Psycho face...but still kind of cute...to his mother at least. This bird hung out on his stick and snapped at any other birds trying to get to it.

Caught in the act.
He's getting really good on his scooter and the evenings have been so pleasant that we spend most of our time between dinner and bedtime outside.
On Sunday we skipped church with the Hiatt's and took a trip to Maryville to watch Hannah's team play. She scored the first goal! Woot woot, Hannah! It was a nice little diversion with Brad being out of town.

Another slightly psycho face...his eyes look a little crossed. Brad has another away game so he's gone today. We went to Target and got some paints and coloring books after my appointment this morning. He's still painting away as I type this.
I was going to have Bradley take an actual picture of me instead of just the belly, but he was only home for one day before he had to leave again this morning. When he got home from work last night we spent time playing with Donovan and just being together not really thinking about anything else. 23 weeks and 3 days. I get to have my awesome glucose test done at my next appointment...yuck. And after my next appointment, I start going every 2 weeks...how did that happen? It has gone by so much faster than my pregnancy with Donovan!

Thought about it...

I have been thinking about blogging for a few nights now, but I'm getting really frustrated with Blogger. I wasn't able to post some cute videos I have of Donovan and tonight it wasn't allowing me to upload photos...oh well, I'll just give some general info about Donovan :)

We went to see Docta Jones the other day, and Donovan couldn't have been more excited about it. Seriously, he kept saying, "we get to go to Donovan's doctor." Then he would tell me all about how the doctor would get pictures of his stomach and print them off for us to take home...I had to let him know that only mommy's doctor does that. That didn't disappoint him though, he was still excited. Thankfully he didn't get shots, and got a sucker, so it shouldn't be too hard for him to keep enjoying visits to the doctor...I guess that means we probably shouldn't take him along when his sister has to get shots. Anyway, Donovan is in the 93rd percentile for both weight and height now (38 lbs and 39 3/4 inches), which was actually a little surprising to hear. To me, compared to how fat he was as a baby, he looks so skinny! I knew he was tall, but he isn't chunky at all. He just has a very solid build I guess. They said he looks great and they have no concerns. Of course he was ridiculously adorable and friendly, as always...he is his father's child... The nurses couldn't get enough of him, they kept commenting on all of his adorable features and his cute little personality. He was telling them about Danny and The Dinosaur while we were there and how he wanted to go to the museum to see Indians, Bears, swords, and guns...and dinosaurs (Danny and the Dinosaur is a book, it was a very thoughtful gift from his Aunt Lenna and he loves it). I'm done bragging, just know he's adorable and he won just about everyone over in the office.

Brad and the team left for Rochester, New York early this morning. Donovan and I plan to fill our days up as much as possible so we won't miss him too much. I will also do everything in my power to make sure no naps are taken by Donovan so he'll go to bed every night at 7:30, just like tonight! Otherwise, I may go a little crazy. Today we went to the zoo with our friends, Mindy and Sydney, at around 9:00 am and didn't pull out of the parking lot until 2:00 pm. I didn't realize we had been there so long! It was a little chilly and we got rained on, but we actually went prepared because I watched the news while making my bed (yes mom, I make my bed now! Are you so proud?). I actually really enjoyed the chill in the air and didn't mind the rain at all. It was a welcome change from the nasty, humid, sweltering jungle heat we've been having lately. Even after all that walking at the zoo, Donovan still wanted to go for a little walk after dinner. I kept it short though, after our fiasco of a walk yesterday afternoon...let's just say, we walked for over an hour and a half and I ended up carrying him the last 20-30 minutes up a few hills because he stepped in a big puddle of mud and refused to walk in his dirty shoe ( I wasn't a very nice mom, I told him he was acting like a girl. His response? "I'm not a girl, I'm a little boy. Silly mommy")...he is going to exhaust his poor pregnant mother.

Not much else to report, Donovan keeps me busy! We've started a little one on one preschool with just the 2 of us. He has his shapes and colors down so well that it's boring for him to go over them and he is starting to recognize his letters and numbers. I can usually only get him to sit still for about 20 minutes, but we're working on it!!
