Fine...

Rather than send multiple emails, I am giving in.

Don't laugh, I hate it when people take pictures of themselves in mirrors, but I did this to show my sister ShayLea my hair color and never sent it to her. This was taken in March so my hair would have been slightly longer than this right before I cut it. Don't mind the bed, I was doing laundry that day...Don't laugh at the cheeser, I can't take a serious picture of myself. As you can see I cut off more than half of my hair and surprisingly, I am okay with it. Even the bangs are okay, that was a last minute decision which I will probably regret when they start to get long enough to get in my eyes.

At the beginning of the week, Donovan had a low fever so we took it easy in our comfy clothes for most of the day. He was still pretty happy, but he was very tired and of course, very warm. He took plenty of cat naps on his mommy and by the end of the day he was pretty much back to normal. It was the first fever he has ever had, he is a very healthy little boy! The fever never quite reached 102 so I wasn't too worried, but we kept an eye on it and took his temp often, much to his dismay.
We had a few warm days this week so Donovan and I went outside to play in the grass. Donovan loves the grass, and he loves leaves (mostly to eat). I don't know why, but I love how chubby and cute he looks in this picture. What a poser.
Here you go Bex, Donovan finally fits in your Seasiders (BYU Hawaii) onesie. It makes his eyes pretty blue, I don't know if you can tell in this picture.
We went to the park a couple times this week. He loves to chillax on the swings.Of course he had to play in the gravel. Yes, he tried to eat rocks. I think I fished out about 10 rocks that day.
When he wasn't eating the rocks, he was throwing them. He is such a boy.

Hannah came to play with us for a little while the other day and she kept Donovan entertained. He's not a very big laugher, but it is pretty cute when he does. I couldn't really get a good video of him laughing, but I got a good pic in the middle of a giggle.
We got a pretty good video of his claps. He does it all the time but for some reason he stops when I pull out the camera.

Bradley's girls had a game on Thursday so Donovan and I tagged along. We played behind the bench because the other side was all dirt and gravel and Donovan wanted to play on the ground. He was a very good boy even though he was pretty tired from only having one short nap that day.
The girls lost 2-1 and Brad was not happy with their performance so he made them run after the game, so Donovan got even more tired. He started to fall asleep while Brad was talking to one of the girls.
He was exhausted, but he still managed to smile when his daddy teased him. It was pretty darn cute. This video cracks me up, he is such a sweet little baby.

Since I know Bradley probably isn't going to tell anyone this, I will do it for him. We went to his graduation dinner last night and he got 2 awards. He was in the top 10% in his class and he was the top student in his major. Granted, it was only for the Council Bluffs campus, but that is still an awesome achievement! He claims it's not a big deal because nobody really cares about their grades at the CB campus, they just want to pass and graduate. I think it is awesome, he has worked very hard and I am very proud of him. He is done!!!! Hooray!!! Congratulations Bradley!

I finally did it...

I chopped off my hair, sorry daddy. I have been talking about it for awhile now and I finally set the appointment and got it done. I was holding out because I was worried about who would do it. I am not very trusting when it comes to my hair (way too many bad cuts), but Joyce recommended someone and she has cute hair so I went for it. I fooled you though, I'm not posting any pictures. In case you didn't know, I don't love pictures of myself, especially when I am by myself. So anyone who wants to see will have to email a special request. Just know it is VERY short, about chin length (it was in the middle of my bust before). I really like it, I am glad I got up the courage to do it. I didn't even flinch when she did the initial chopping...the lady next to me did though, she was shocked that I was brave enough to cut off all that hair. It is so light and bouncy now!

Woot!

I am a very proud mom, Donovan knows the difference between pooping and clapping.

Where to start?

What a busy, fun, and eventful week and a half we had! I feel like I took these first pictures months ago because Donovan figured so many things out this week. I think he inherited my impatient gene, he wants to do things NOW. He doesn't wait for me to teach him things, he just figures it out by himself. By now, he can pretty much pull himself up on anything, even the wall.

This picture isn't really significant to the goings on, but I thought it was pretty darn cute.

We went to see Coach Ginn Last Thursday because it was his last night in CB. He has moved on and is back in Utah...hopefully he will find a wife! Anyway, I thought it would be fun to give Donovan a mohawk before we went over there, since it looks like he already has one, it turned out pretty cute but for some reason I haven't been able to do it again.
Donovan and Mason continue to have more and more fun with each other. Mason is very patient with Donovan and is very good at entertaining him.

Brad's parents came out to visit and Donovan had a blast. It was nice for us to get out of the apartment and go somewhere besides the mall (it has been way too cold to go to the park or anywhere else). They loved playing in Joyce's sunroom, Donovan liked to get into the flowers so we had to watch him pretty closely.

They were being so cute together, Donovan always has to keep an eye on Mason, so he can try to do whatever Mason does later on I'm sure.
I always knew they would be friends eventually. It is nice to have Hannah, Lenna, Scott and Mason out here so Donovan can at least be close with one of his cousins and know who some of his aunts and an uncle are.Donovan knew Granny was tired, so he rocked her to sleep. I guess he was pretty pooped too.

Hooray for the zoo! If any of you want to come out here and visit us, we will take you to Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo. It is pretty much the best zoo I have been to, then again I have only been to one other and that was the Hogle Zoo...not much of a comparison...

Donovan seemed pretty indifferent to most of the animals. He fell asleep before we got to Pachyderm Hill.
And so did Mason.
He did like the aquarium though. He stood in the bubble to watch the silly penguins before we went to see the fish.
Here is Donovan with Lenna (not Aunt Lenna, cousin Lenna). Brad's Aunt Gina and cousin Breanna and her kids came up from Missouri for a day. She was cute and liked Donovan, but she has 2 older siblings who can get a little rough...
This is her picking Donovan up after she pushed him down. He didn't seem to mind, he landed on his bum.
I tried to get Donovan to sit in Mason's wagon, but of course he had different plans.
Granny and Papa with their boys by the lions. Thanks to Papa, we will be able to enjoy the zoo all year long. I was planning on buying a pass once we got there, but Sam wouldn't hear of it. He made the lady at the desk give me my card back and gave her his. Brad and I are both lucky to have very generous parents.Donovan loves Hannah, and he really enjoyed having Scottie around too!

Yesterday we went to Joyce's to play with Mason, Granny, Scottie and Joyce. Donovan did pretty well sitting at the little Cars table with Mason. I thought he would topple over for sure, but he stayed there and watched Mason color. After he got bored watching Mason color, Donovan decided to clean Joyce's table for her, what a sweet boy.
Here comes the fun stuff. We don't have stairs so I didn't really worry about Donovan trying to climb, but he figured it out in a matter of minutes. He had climbed one step to get from Joyce's family room area to her kitchen, but who knew he would figure out 2, even 3 steps?!
This was just the beginning. He decided to try and chase Mason up the steps, it was slow, but he kept at it until he was too tired.

After we played at Joyce's, we headed to the mall. Donovan was pretty tired, we went to eat at the food court and he started to fall asleep in the high chair. He was out for a good 30 minutes. It was funny because Donovan doesn't just fall asleep. He usually gets mad when he is tired, but I guess he was beyond tired because he was completely out 2 seconds after I picked him up. It was pretty cute, but of course once he woke up he was wired. He chased Mason at Aeropostale and giggled the whole time.
Well, that 30 minute nap was about all Donovan got. He slept in the car, but didn't even get an hour between the 30 minute nap and the car trips, so he was pretty grumpy last night. The only thing that made him really happy was getting in the tub. Poor Mason didn't even get a 30 minute nap, so he was pretty upset too. They had a lot of fun together in the tub and were very happy until they had to get dressed...that was fun.Brad played some Guitar Hero with Scottie.

And Donovan had to say goodbye. "See you in July Papa!"Donovan is also getting better at eating big people food. Sometimes he even gets mad when I give him baby food. Joyce gave him some Goldfish crackers and he LOVED them. He also loved to eat the Gerber Graduates snacks like zesty tomato puffs (which are actually pretty darn good, I could eat a can by myself) and peach puffs.

It was funny, at the beginning of last week Donovan was still scooting on his belly a little, but now he doesn't even fall on his tummy while he's crawling. His favorite thing to do is crawl, sit, crawl, sit. He is so much fun. His little personality is so cute.

Wow

Donovan has grown so much in the last few months. It is crazy how fast babies grow!! Check these out.

Here is Donovan just 2 or so days old.Now here he is just 8 months later and about 20 pounds heavier!
I know, this is random, I was just looking through old pictures *tear* he is getting so big!

I guess it's about time...

Since almost every one has a private blog nowadays I guess we should join the club. I have a list of some emails, but I don't have Kim and Steve's or Kristi and Brandon's, I know that for sure. If you want an invite, leave a comment. I will leave this up for about a week before I go private.

I forgot the video!!

I finally got a video of Donovan clapping. He is much better at it now, in fact he always claps when he is done eating now, and when he is tired. For some reason he does a lot of silly things when he is tired.

Poor Bing. Donovan wouldn't leave him alone when we went to Lenna and Scott's to watch General Conference. First he chased him under Mason's high chair, and then cornered him in Lenna and Scott's closet. He loves to watch and chase that silly cat.

Donovan and a small craft project...

We have found Donovan in some funny positions the last few nights. When I go in there before bed I can't help but laugh and take pictures.
This was my favorite with his arm hanging over the edge.
What a cute little smile.
He is so strange sometimes, he twists his body in strange positions, especially when he is tired.

I love this picture. This is one of Mason's vests and Lenna had told me that it looked really cute without the jacket attached so I put it on him the other day and it is so cute! He looked like a little stud.
I can't get over how handsome our child is!!I have been wanting to buy some Baby Einstein puppets because Donovan loves to see them on the TV. Instead of spending $15 for a little puppet, I decided I would make some. I did it once in Junior High and remembered it wasn't too hard, so I got the stuff at Walmart for about $10. I think it was a pretty good attempt for not having a pattern to go off of. The cow turned out really well. I still have a lot of felt left so I will attempt more animals some day when I am bored or something.
