Our fabulous 4th, and more

I will start from the beginning of the week, just to build your suspense for our awesome 4th of July celebration with the Hiatt's.

Our only highlight of the week was when Jordan Carver came over for dinner. I had picked him up from the airport while Brad was at work and invited him over for dinner later that evening. After he ate, Brad had to leave to meet the youth at the temple. Jordan was nice enough to stay for a while and keep Donovan occupied while I parked the scooter, unloaded and loaded the dishwasher, and cleaned the kitchen. What a good friend.
They even danced together.

That was pretty much it for the week, now to the 4th of July!

Lenna and Scott came over last night for an awesome dinner and "fireworks". Before we ate Mason and Donovan played together and watched "Baby MacDonald". It was pretty funny to watch them together as they watched their show. You can tell they are related.Donovan and Mason actually ate most of the food we gave them, Donovan especially enjoyed it.

We thought Utah fireworks were pathetic, but all we could do here were sparklers, poppers, and confetti sticks. So much fun. They took about 2 seconds to play with and then about 30 minutes or more to clean up.

The men were pretty funny as they attempted to clean up the confetti, if you can't hear their conversation then the video isn't worth watching.
At least the boys enjoyed the confetti sticks. They carried them around until we found something more fun to play with. Donovan couldn't have cared less about the sparklers.

Thankfully our 4th of July was saved by our discovery of a small toad. The boys had fun chasing after and trying to catch it. Brad and Scott of course caught it a few times, but surprisingly, even Donovan got his hands on it once or twice.
Mason was a little wary of the little guy, but he did like to watch it hop and watch people catch it.

We ended the night with a movie and even tried to watch fireworks on the roof (Brad has a key to get up there), but Mason didn't like being that high so we only watched for a couple of minutes. I thought it was pretty cool, it almost makes me want to be here next year to watch fireworks on the roof!

We hope everyone else had an awesome 4th of July!

I think it's funny that we posted the same footage of D trying to get the frog. Ha. I love the conversation between the menfolk. Classic Scott. Thank goodness for the excitement of the frog!

Looks like you guys had a nice fouth but not so fun with the cleanup. The girls were a little scared of the bigger fireworks we did but it was fun to do them for their first time.
