Food

I love food, a little too much sometimes. Since I've been running more frequently, I've started to crave fresh foods and I really don't like to eat as much meat as I used to...except steak...I love steak. Anyway, so I've been trying to make fresh meals for my little family and I feel like I've been doing a pretty good job, but I can't stop making/eating cookies. What is with this sweet tooth? If I didn't eat so many cookies and other baked goods, I would probably look a little more like my tiny little sister. How do you get over a sweet tooth? Maybe I'll just start adding veggies or flax to all of my baked goods...that will make them semi-wholesome, right?

Flax is good in just about anything. Add it to breads and it makes them a little "crustier", the good kind of crusty. And it's good in cookies, too. Not sure about cake yet. One of the best things to munch on when you need something is raw almonds. I usually trade off between those and home toasted almonds. Toast raw almonds for about 12 minutes at 400 on a cookie sheet. Turn/stir them about half way thru. Really tasty. And go ahead and splurge once every week or two. I've found lately I enjoy veggies without anything on them, cooked or not.
And don't be picking on your little sister just because mom has to take in the bust on your prom dress for her...

Nothing wrong with cookies. Eating an entire pan of brownies by yourself though...problem. And eating an entire dump cake by yourself...problem. I should know. I would be interested to know what kinds of things you make for dinner. I'm getting sick of our same old same old...

Have you seen the cookbook, "Now Eat This"? It's a healthy take on comfort foods. There's a recipe for fettucine alfredo I want to try. But the brownies made with black beans I'll pass.

okay, so this is really nerdy, but Phil is training someone who has the same problem and is actually addicted to sugar. There is this book called "The sugar addict's total recovery program". I know you are not that extreme of a case, but this guy has over come his problem and has lost almost 200 pounds!
