Poor Donovan...

Lenna and I scrapbooked for the majority of the day yesterday and the boys were really good. Donovan had his "I want mommy" moments, but for the most part he stayed pretty happy. I don't want to make Scott feel bad again, but I have to tell the story. When Scott got home he was really nice and played with the boys so we could keep working and put them on their bed. He made the mistake of leaving Donovan on the bed and leaving the room. A few seconds later we heard a crash and we all rushed to the room as Lenna was saying something along the lines of "Scott, did you really leave Donovan on the bed" (not exactly her words, I am pretty sure she said something like this, but I wasn't really paying attention, I was worried about Donovan), he had fallen off their bed, which is not very close to the ground, so he was pretty scared and a little hurt. I grabbed him from Scott after he picked him up off the ground and I rushed to Mason's room to try and calm him down on the rocking recliner and of course I started crying, I am usually pretty tough and don't cry in front of people, but when it comes to my child I am a softy. He was crying like he never really has before and it broke my heart. Scott felt really bad about it. I wasn't mad, but I hope you have learned your lesson Scott!! Donovan ended up with a little rug burn on his nose and forehead, I had to work pretty hard to get a decent picture, but I think you can see at least a little of what it looked like. Of course it already looks better, children heal so fast!

Yes, Scott feels awful about it and was royally chewed out by his wife after having to remind him last week not to leave Donovan on the couch by himself. Now that Mason is so independent and SAFE he has forgotton what it's like to have a littler one. Sorry again!

It happens so fast. I can see the rug burns but he doesn't look too sad now. Boys will have bumps, bruises and such they are just daredevils.

Dangit that is too bad. Sometimes when it is not your own kid you forget what you can and can't do with them. Glad he is already doing better.

As bad as that must have been for the baby, I feel way worse for you DeAnna. I probably would have freaked right out too. And I'm sure he recovered quicker than you did. I hear babies are good like that.

Just be thankful that he didn't fall off of a table at Subway. Oops!

Ouch, that's a tough one anyway you look at it. I remember when Caleb was a baby, Tia had him in his punkin' seat on the counter by the sink. It happened so quick and he fell to the floor. He had a broken collar bone with that one. We all were to blame. Just the most innocent of actions can result in some often frightening things. Glad everything is ok. Silvey kids are pretty tough!
