We are almost settled. I am still working on a few projects, but we are getting there. Everything is basically in it's place except pictures and things. We even went through all of our tubs and got rid of 5 large bags of old clothes. Getting rid of crap is the best part about moving.
Here is the picture of Donovan's "Handy Manny" PJ's, he is pretty much obsessed with them. I found them in a 3T the other day so we would have the next size up when he grows out of these ones (he is pretty close). I put them in the closet and he found them! He grabs my hand every night and walks to the closet in hopes I will take them down and put them on him. He has never been attached to anything like this and it makes me laugh, I love it.
Here is one of my completed projects, I know it's not perfect, but I think it looks pretty good.
We had a couple of really nice days, so Donovan and I would go outside and play in our "yard". There was a little snow left (it has since snowed again), so he played in the snow and slush. We got pretty muddy but we had fun! This area is right outside our apartment. This is close to the view we get from our window. It's nice to live up on a hill away from the main road.
Donovan and I tagged along with Lenna and Mason to the Children's Museum again. Brad was at a Scout thing and Scott was studying so it was just the moms and the boys.
Some of the girls working there brought out some instruments and Donovan immediately went for the drums. This was right after we played in the water table, if you didn't notice Donovan's wet shirt.
This picture is for Donovan's Aunt Kirsta. We were playing in the theater area and I found the unicorn costume. Here is a good example of our view. Donovan loves it when the deer come out. We usually open the blinds right when we wake up so Donovan can see all of the animals outside. So far we have seen deer, black squirrel, and wild turkeys. I'm sure we will see plenty more in the spring and summer! I am pretty excited that we have an area where Donovan can play and explore.
Even though our apartment is pretty small, I am really enjoying it. I am much happier here than I was on campus. Here are my top five reasons why:
5. We have an area for Donovan to play along with a great view.
4. When I clean, it actually looks clean. The apartment on campus hadn't been cleaned for months before we moved in, you can probably imagine the grime. I went after it with bleach and a toothbrush and still had no luck.
3. While I don't have a lot of cabinet space, the kitchen functions better and I can keep one eye on Donovan while I cook or clean in there.
2. It's bright! I can open my blinds without worrying about creepy students looking in our window. When I turn on the lights, the rooms actually light up so I don't feel like I'm living in a dungeon!
1. No calls at 3 a.m. from incompetent RA's!!!!
There are a few more reasons, but I won't get into it all. Even though we are still in the same blah ward and still in Iowa, we are happy with our new place and feel good about staying for a couple more years.

I like what you did with your family pictures. It looks really nice! That's great that you now have some place where Donovan can run around, and watch deer.
AWESOME! You found a bigger pair of the best pj's in the world! Man I have such good taste! Sounds like everything is going well. I already miss our canasta nights ha!
What do you mean "blah" ward? It's not THAT bad! Would you really rather be in Greenview with the zoobies???
I am glad the Hiatt's are in our ward, but other than that it is pretty blah. And no, I would not rather be in Greenview with all the zoobies.
Gotta love those unicorns! Nate approves this message.
That children's museum is awesome! I would love to have one here. Congrats on finding a place. That area around is perfect. I bet Donovan is just loving going out and exploring. Its so crazy to see him and see all the things he can do. Linc is only 5 months behind and is just barely starting to learn a lot of new things. Hes kind of slow but we love him:)
I am glad things are starting to get finished on feeling settled in your new house. I love the new wall hanging with your pictures on it, it looks great.
Hurray for settling in. I know the "yard" is a big plus with Donovan! He loves outside!
Shoot, I wrote here a couple days ago- guess I forgot to hit the "publish" button. I am glad Donovan has a"yard"to play in. He loves being outside! I'm happy you are settling in too.
