Easter and other things

Donovan saw this picture and said, "Send that to Grandma Mindy." So here you go, Mom. He's pretty adorable.
I tried really hard to get a picture of Donovan and me, but his foot kept getting in the way.
I guess the fact that I made my bed made it irresistable.

Chamae enjoyed watching her brother's silliness.

His new favorite game is pretending to sleep. He pretends to sleep in the car sometimes so we'll carry him inside. He thinks it's a pretty good trick. I remember doing it a few times when I was little too. I was always so sure my dad really thought I was sleeping, now I know better.

Last Saturday, Donovan and I got to get out of the house together without baby. Brad stayed home to watch El Clasico so we left Chamae with him. A friend from I-dub soccer days was having an Easter egg hunt and invited us. It was really cute, she had snacks and bubbles for the kids to play with before the hunt. Donovan really enjoyed his "snack".

He also enjoyed playing with all the kids. I always worry how he's going to be around other kids because his cousins get annoyed with him sometimes, but they all played well together.

He had lots of fun finding the eggs.

But I think he had even more fun on the merry-go-round. It was his first time ever playing on one. I was on it for 5 seconds with him and felt sick the rest of the day.

I let Donovan feed Chamae a bottle of milk I had pumped.
He was really excited.

We went to another Easter egg hunt at the library on Wednesday. It was pretty lame, but we had fun playing at the library afterwards.

I cut my finger while I was chopping vegetables and asked Donovan to get me a bandaid. He did not bring me a bandaid. Can you guess what he did bring me?

Have I mentioned how awesome my friend Mindi is? She knew I was having a rough week last week and when we ran into her and her daughter, Sydney, at the library she offered to take Donovan for a few hours. I let her and got a lot done! When I went to pick him up, she had us take Sydney's Jumperoo for a while before her baby boy is born. It is wonderful!! Chamae loves it and it gives me an opportunity to get some stuff done in the evenings. It is hard to believe she's already big enough for it!

We had the cake auction on Friday and I made a Tinkerbell cake. I think it turned out pretty cute. The fairy was my mom's idea. It turned out really cute and ended up getting the highest bid!

We had another Easter egg hunt with Mason and Addi on Saturday after soccer.

It was a little chilly for poor Chamae.

When Brad got home that afternoon, we colored some eggs. Chamae was a good baby and watched. Brad tried to get her to hold an egg, but she it didn't last long.

Donovan enjoyed it and wanted to color more!

He had a pretty good Easter. He got all kinds of fun new toys and games.

One of the things he's most excited about: His Buzz Lightyear umbrella.

He is also pretty excited about the Lightning McQueen kite.

Yesterday, we went to the Hiatt's for Easter dinner. After dinner, the kids decorated some cookies. It was pretty awesome. They didn't decorate many cookies, but they sure used a lot of frosting and sprinkles!!

Yes, those are Halloween sprinkles. They used Christmas ones too.

I think Donovan took 2 bites out of the cookie. He spent most of the time grabbing handfuls of frosting and shoving it in his mouth.

I hope everyone had a good Easter. Ours was great, even though Brad had to work most of Saturday.

New with Chamae:

-Rolls from back to stomach...all the time. She won't stay on her back for very long anymore. And she won't roll from her stomach to back anymore. I'm pretty sure Donovan wasn't rolling over until after 4 months and Chamae isn't even 4 months old yet! I think we're in for crawling sooner too.

-Jumps and goes crazy in the Jumperoo.

-Laughs on occasion. Not very hard, and she doesn't usually laugh at the same thing twice. Apparently she's not easily amused.

-Smiles constantly, unless she's tired or hungry. I guess if she won't laugh, at least she smiles a lot.

-Is growing so fast! It took a while for her to grow out of 0-3's, but now she's almost too long for 3-6's!!!

New with Donovan:

-Got his first pair of Adidas cleats. We're trying to train him to call them, "boots", but he likes to call them his, "soccer shoes".

-Is making bigger messes now than he did when he was 2. How does that work? I guess it makes sense, he can reach more and he's really curious about everything.

-Is learning a lot. I always worried about him being able to learn things, but he surprises me all the time about what he knows and remembers.

Sounds like a week and weekend of activity and discovering new friends and things to keep them occupied. Glad your Easter was enjoyable. Did the pjs and dress fit the kids? Hope you have a good week!

Yay for lots of fun. I find it's easier to stay busy—gives me less time to feel sorry for myself! :) Your kids sure are cute.

Of course she'll pick things up quicker than Donovan. He didn't have anyone to show him how. Each one down the line learns quicker than the last. Especially the "bad" things... Enjoy! :)
