Things I love

Chamae is cracking us up lately. She is so funny and is getting pretty sassy. The other day, she was in the room with Donovan and I heard her let out a pretty angry squeal. Turns out, she was playing with one of Donovan's toys and he ripped it out of her hands. This did not make her happy and she let him know it. She's already learning to stand up for herself, I love it! It's a regular occurence now, she even cooperated when we showed Brad. I know I shouldn't think it's funny, but it is. She also likes to imitate sounds. Brad will make noises with her at night, and she tries her best to do it exactly how he does. So cute. She adores her daddy already.
Donovan and I have been butting heads quite a bit lately, I'm not sure what to do most of the time. He can be so stubborn!! The most annoying thing he does lately is trying to talk over me. So frustrating. And when I ask him to do something, he'll ignore me until I start counting and then he says, "I am!" Like he was already doing it and I was just harping on him. In reality, he was just sitting there doing whatever he dang well pleased until he knew I was serious and he was going to be in trouble. Just when I think we have him figured out, he decides to push limits again! I guess this is parenthood and we're in for it when he's a teenager. For a while there, I was considering having more kids...but right now, not so much. I still love the little stinker, he has his very sweet moments. He is a sweet little boy, he just likes to do things his way and we don't put up with it, so we all get a little frustrated and grumpy sometimes! He still has no fear of strangers. Yesterday, one of the soccer girls and her sister and parents were driving through CB to take a little trip before she has to check in on Sunday. They left her car in our parking lot so we went out there to talk to them for a little while. Donovan ran right to them and gave them all hugs. I think he met them once as a baby when her older sister came out to play. I guess he has a really good memory...or he just loves people! I'm alright with it when we're around, but I'm trying to teach him not to approach people he doesn't know without us there. He's going to be in heaven when the season starts.

Don't dwell on the negative, focus on the positive. Hard to do sometimes, but you'll enjoy every phase they go through more, even the teenage years... I heard people say bad things about all the phases and was a bit worried, but once you all started crawling I've enjoyed every age. Even the sassy moments. :)

Oh Donovan, why won't you give your mother a break? (I'd like to ask Colin the same thing.) I miss seeing Chamae and her cute face. Good thing you're coming out next month, right? (Also, if you are, can you bring my black baby carrier thingy?)

I'm sorry Donovan doesn't have any stranger danger. I'm afraid he comes by that from his dad and his aunt Hannah. Hannah loved older people and thought they were all grandparents and would randomly sit on their laps or hug them. Interesting how much quicker the younger sibling catches on to "mine". They are still cute, and adorable no matter what their parents tell me.

Chamae will have alot of standing up to do with that big brother of hers :) As far as the butting heads with Donovan that is so normal and oh so frustrating
