big boy bed

I don't have any pictures because I lost our camera, but we are attempting to get Donovan to sleep in his converted crib tonight. We will see what happens when he has freedom in the morning. He will probably still jump on his bed!! I decided to do some experimenting today and didn't put him down for a nap...it has been a very long day, not because he was naughty or grumpy, he was actually very pleasant and made me laugh a lot, but because I didn't get my midday break! It's hard to keep an eye on him for that many hours without a break! He has done much better than me without a nap. He is listening to the Wiggles and running and jumping up and down the hallway. Hopefully he will be worn out enough not to notice that he is able to get out of bed when I put him down. Wish us luck!

i think he likes his sleep enough for it to work. Most of the time.

It didn't work. He squirms too much and fell out. Maybe we will try again in a few weeks.

Yeah, I don't look forward to trying to get Colin to sleep in a big bed (alone anyway—he sleeps fine with someone else). He's squirmy too and rolls all over the place. Do you have a rail you can put up to help keep him in? Good luck with it when you do go for it again.

What why did you decide to just not put him down for a nap??? I know I would die if the girls didn't have their nap! And good luck with the toddler bed when you decide to try it out again

It's an adjustment, leaving naps behind or sometimes you give them naps every other day. He does play hard! Hmmm... sorry putting him in the bed didn't work. Try, try again......later. Bummed that you lost your camera. Hope it turns up somewhere soon.

Put the mattress on the floor. Not as far to fall. :) I don't recall the move from crib to bed, it just seemed to happen naturally. Or maybe the new baby forced the old baby out. No, I'm not hinting or anything, that's just the way it seemed to be for us...
