New favorite word

Donovan's new favorite word is "potty". No, he can't use it, but we did buy one to spark some interest. We will be playing in one room and he will decide he wants to sit on the potty, so he runs to the bathroom saying "potty" over and over again. He can now say "pee pee" and "poo" as well. When we have some time next week we are going to spend a couple of days letting him run around naked so he can figure out his functions and hopefully learn how to hold it in before he can go to the potty. I don't really think he is ready, but I can be optimistic!!

You are right, saying it is important but understanding it and doing it are different. Doesn't hurt to experiment with it but make sure it's his idea and not yours. Hey, it's possible that it might work. Good luck.

Good luck is right. I think just having the potty around will help him start to understand so that when he's ready he can go!

Coming from a mother who tried to train her child 3 different times...good luck! I agree with my mom - the Silvey stubborness makes it so that if it isn't his idea, it probably won't happen. Good luck!

There's no stubborness on the "Silvey" side of the family. I would know these things. I can back that statement up with years of genealogical research.

Then it must be on your mom's side Sam, because Bradley doesn't get it from Tia :). I can say that, because I am just as stubborn!

That is great that he is showing interest. That is a big step in the right direction

I love the grumpy lady in sacrament story! My friend is divorced with no children in our ward and she is the worst one when it comes to loud children! Every time Linc makes a noise she stares him down forever with a grouchy face. People just don't get it sometimes. Oh well!
